My name is Chris Jackson and I was born and raised in Halifax, NS. I've  been exploring the field of digital photography for the past five years.  I am self- taught in and my interest in photography began in the early 1980s when I got my first point and shoot film camera.  My subjects range from nature to landscapes. 

A member of Veith Street Gallery’s  Creative Spirit East collective  since 2007;  I've explored different fields of photography, such as abstracts and portraiture.  I was an Artist-in-Residence there  from May - August 2009, resulting in my first solo showing of portraiture.  During my residency, I worked  for the Scotia Festival of Music as a photographer during rehearsals for upcoming concerts.   

Since June 2011, I have been working at the Veith Street Gallery in  the Project Curator program and have curated two successful group exhibits “Macabre” and “Gallery of Horrors”.  More recently, I helped produce a 2012 calendar for  charity using the talents of members of the Creative Spirit East collective,  wtih all  money going back to Veith Street Gallery.  Currently  I act as administrator to the Veith Street Gallery Facebook page and  started a photography club in February of 2012 which has since resume following the recent bus strike.

Chris Jackson's Digital Journey  (formerly Digital Journeys by Chris Jackson)  is a website I created order to showcase my accomplishments in my digital photography from 2006 to the present.  It is the most  extensive and biographical site I have ever put together to date.  It details all my photographic exhibits, including exhibits for charities I have sold my photography through, as well as my vendor selling opportunities and published photography.  You will see the best of my photography from the past and new material from the present, including landscapes, portraiture, macros and more!
