After over 7 months of nothing, I finally got around to adding some new photography I took recently with my new Canon Rebel 6ti camera that I purchased at Henry's near the end of the July.
The pictures featured in my slideshow were taken between July 6th and August 8th of this year. Some of these pictures were taken along the south shore/Crystal Crescent Beach. I am working on another slideshow of a recent photo shoot I did with friends around Peggy's Cove and the Swissair disaster site, it should be up in a few week's time. In the meantime, Enjoy the new pictures!

Today, I uploaded a slideshow to commemorate the upcoming exhibit of my Digital Photography retrospective, which is going up on March 5th.
I was planning to show this at my opening reception, but for some reason, Elle's doesn't want to have one, so I am doing the next best thing: In my artist statement I am including the link to my website and the fact that this slideshow will be featured there. I hope all you who frequent Elle's Bistro will take a look at my Photography. Prices range from $60 to $40 and are marked on the title card next to the picture. It's been a fun 11 years of Digital Photography and as soon as the weather gets warmer, I'll be out there again capturing pictures again! Hi Everyone
Just a short update to inform you that the Florida slideshows previously on the homepage of my website have been moved to the "My Photography Journey 2010-" page! I'll be adding new slideshows to my homepage of my other shoots from 2016 in the near future. Stay tuned! At long last, I have finally gotten around to creating a slideshow of my best photos from my October 22nd, photo shoot at Peggy's Cove.
It was the first time I was able to capture Peggy's Cove with my digital camera, but I was there in 1994 with my first Brother-in-Law, but forgot my digital camera that day and ever since have wanted to go back. My current Brother-in-Law finally got the chance to take me and I took lots of pictures, but only my best are featured in my slideshow, which I created with Windows Movie Maker with a musical soundtrack, as I have been doing with my photography slideshows recently. It was really awesome to see Peggy's Cove again and i hope you enjoy the experience! You can find my newest slideshow on my Home page at: https://digitaljourney.weebly.com Beginning June 7th, I have begun posting the 1st of 4 created slideshows of my vacation photos from my recent trip to Orlando, Florida with my sister, brother-in-law and related family.
It was my very first trip there and we saw and did many things, sightseeing, glass bottom boat ride, canoe ride (both my first) shopping, amusement rides (The Incredible Hulk, Harry Potter, King Kong, Jurrasic Park and Space Mountain to name a few. We were only there from April 25th to May 2nd, too short, but we did have fun! I hope you enjoy the sights! I also made two videos (the Frontierland parade and the fireworks at Walt Disney World on May 1st, which I will upload after the slideshows. You will find the uploads on my home page and on my channel on YouTube Recently, on the 15th Anniversary of 9/11 I did a shoot for an associate of SteveTv, Melanie, for her son Callum so that he could possibly get on as a model at City Model Talent Agency. I was first asked on July 9th, when I was at the Waterfront Warehouse doing my first assignment for SteveTv (as a videographer for a Halifax Positive News segment) After many delays over the next two months we finally did the shoot and it went very well, with a number of good shots taken. Over the next month those shots were whittled down from over 50 to 5 color and 5 black and white (converted to greyscale on Callum's request) These shots were later edited by Callum's request and submitted shortly afterwards. On October 7th, almost a month after the shoot, I heard the awesome news that Callum had been accepted to the City Model Talent Agency! I had been checking the website since to see his picture and yesterday it was finally posted.
I have a slideshow featuring the top 5 color shots submitted to the modelling agency, including the one posted on the website, on my "Portraits by Chris" section. You can also see Callum's picture on the Cith Model Talent Agency website at: http://www.citymodels.ca/males Congratulations Callum!! Hello Everyone!
Posted today on my "Home" page, the first of many "Best of" photography slideshow presentations that I am creating to post on my You Tube page (and shared here). These aren't your basic slideshows like I have been publishing over the past 6 years, these ones are created with Windows MovieMaker and set to music appropriate to the subject(s) in the slideshow. This idea was given to me by my friend Elizabeth Eaton, based on the interpretation of an idea by another friend Steve Leveille, from SteveTv, who I do photography on special events. Please let me know what you think of my first "Best of" slideshow by commenting below, I really appreciate any feedback! In July of this year, I was interviewed in front of the New Central Library by Steve Leveille, talking about my interest in photography and showing some samples. Unfortunately, do to the noise in the background, it was decided not to use it and instead do a new interview.
We did this interview at my In-Law suite in Bedford on September 25th, with Steve again asking me about how I got started in my photography and my switch to Digital Photography. During this segment, we introduced a new show (since re-titled Chris Jackson's Digital Journey, based on my website) where I showcased some of my photography from my portfolio. I showcased some of my landscapes and abstracts, with the promise of "more to come" You can see the video, edited for content by me, on my Home page! You can also see it on SteveTv at stevetv.tk I have a new album of a Bedford Sunset taken this past August from the window of my apartment. These pictures were taken with my Nikon P500, the camera I have used for most pictures on this site since late 2011.
It was a beautiful sunset and it can be found on the home page of my website. Today, with permission from Kathleen's Mom Carol and younger sister Marie, I am finally publishing the best of the photo shoot I did with Kathleen at her apartment on January 10th, 2016. Ironically, she passed away just 5 months later, on that exact date.
These images were originally taken for Kathleen for use on her Meetup Page profile in what was then her apartment. It would be the first and last photo shoot I would do with her. I intended to do another shoot with her in the Public Gardens sometime in the Spring but that never transpired. Chris Jackson, Photographer |
