Today, I updated my home page to include some of my newest photography from June and July. I recently have been using the black and white/colour feature of my Nikon P500 where it takes a picture in black in white and then another in colour and this album here shows some of my best results. The pics of the True North Diner, located in the Bedford Place Mall strip, were taken on June 8th 2016. The July photos, taken around the Public Gardens in Halifax while showing a friend how to use his camera for an upcoming vacation in Iran, because he wanted to take some pics of his pet lion, were taken on July 5th, 2016.
Enjoy!

Hello everyone!
It has been more than 2 years since I posted in this blog and I feel that it's time to resume it. My last posting had to do with some deer pictures that I reposted on February 2014. To see all the photos that I have posted since that time, go to My Photography Journey 2010 - page. Currently, on my home page, I have just posted some pictures I took at a meetup with the Martime Camera Club, which I took on May 15th, 2016. I also have posted some of my black and white photos on the meetup page for the Maritime Photo Club itself, which can be found at: www.meetup.com/Maritime-Camera-Club/photos/all_albums/?offset=21 I hope you enjoy! Recently, at a friends place in Dartmouth (across from the apt he lives in) a friend and I had the honour of feeding the deer apples and carrots. Unfortunately, the deer didn't go for the apples (or I missed photographing them as I was so excited to see a deer close up!) but liked the carrots better. The friend I was with recently viewed these pictures and commented that the deer was centered in all the pics and that I could solve this through cropping post-production. Because I want to put my best photography efforts on my home page, I recropped the pictures and reposted them. You can find them on the home page.
I know that it's been a long time since I posted anything on my blog, but things have been quite difficult for me since my mother Maria Josephine Jackson, passed away suddenly on June 9th, 2013, getting used to my new life in my first apartment. The photography you see here represents what I feel to be my most interesting/best photography taken since my mother's passing. It's organized by month and I hope that you enjoy it!
Since I began my digital photography journey, I’ve managed to see some of my work published in the Community Herald, the EDN Newsletter, Mentality magazine, and the Spiritspeak newsletter for Veith Street Gallery, but never in my life had I had an opportunity to be published in an e-book, even better, one written by Dr. Bara H. Loveland tentatively titled “Self Help”, which is to be published on no less than three websites: www.earthcommunityresearch.org, www.biochakra.com and www.colormedicine.com !
Not only will I have one of my pictures published in Chapter 3, but I will also have a little bio about me in Chapter 7 of her e-Book! Publication has not happened yet, but as soon as her websites are up and running, I’ll publish the links in my "Published Photography" page for all to see! To learn how this all came about, visit my "News and Upcoming Events" page on this site! Hello Everyone!
Haven't been blogging here much lately but wanted all of you who visit my site to know of some new albums I've added to "My Photography Journey 2010-" and a sneak peek at my newest photography on my home page. Today, I moved my "Spring Florals" album from my home page to "My Photography Journey 2010- and also an album called "Evening of the Super-Moon" featuring photos I took of the super-moon during that evening. On my home page, I've added shots of a squirrel who we came to call Christine the squirrel who just seems to love the bird seed on the top bird feeder of our bird feeding station (which has three bird feeding stations) that I took just today. I hope you enjoy them! Hello photography buffs!
Yesterday, I watched an interesting video posted on Google entitled "10 things every serious photographer should know" which was the topic of a show featuring well-known photographer Scott Kelby called "The Grid". One of the top 10 things concerned having a lot of albums on your website as Mr. Kelby pointed out that on a website with many albums, he may only look at the ones that interest him. So, today I decided to divide my former "Photographic Journey" page into two sections: 2006-2010 and 2010 to present so that the viewer will not be overwhelmed by the albums I had on the one page and I hopefully might get more views! If you'd like to see the video for yourself and learn the top 10 things every serious photographer should know, head over to: http://kelbytv.com/thegrid/2012/03/01/the-grid-episode-45/ I hope these changes add to the enjoyment of my website. Let me know what you think! Hello Everyone!
I've just posted an album of brand-new squirrel pictures on "My Photographic Journey" today. It's been a while since I've been able to take squirrel pictures , in fact these are the first I've taken since 2007. This is because recently we acquired a new bird feeder and ever since February 15th, a cute little squirrel has been feeding on the bird seed and I've been lucky enough, through patience and ingenuity, to capture the pics you see here. Enjoy! Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to let you know that I've uploaded some early shots of Racoons, Mallards, and Squirrels from 2006-2007 to broaden my portfolio of animals . You can find the album at the bottom of "My Photographic Journey" page. Hope you enjoy them! |
